Q: my girlfriend's last period started on 7/12. on 8/20 pos hot. on 8/23 hcg was 75 and on 8/24 hcg was <2. as of 9/3 still no bleeding. any ideas.

Ultrasound?: Has she had an ultrasound? I have had a similar situation where the tissue was stuck in the cervical canal and patient needed to be evacuated with a pill.

?pregnant: The timing of the sex and ovulation makes pregnancy a strong possibility. Although, ovulation on the first suggests cycle not due till11th-18th, wait and see.

No difference: Probbaly that soon does not make a difference. Usually every other day after IUI is fine. Would not have too much sex after iui.

Threatened abortion: What you are describing is called a threatened abortion - which means bleeding in early pregnancy. It does increase your risk of a miscarriage, however you will more than likely continue to have a normal pregnancy. Everything else you describe is reassuring (heartbeat, normal hcg levels). Follow with your doctor and I would recommend pelvic rest for now (no sex).

Miscarriage: What you have is an abnormal pregnancy - a miscarriage. Bleeding will begin, but it may take a few weeks more. You can't do anything yourself to make a miscarriage happen, and you can't do anything to stop one. About 1 in every 5 pregnancies miscarried - usual when there is something wrong with baby.

: Sounds like a positive pregnancy test

Q: are sugars straight from fruits bad for phase 3 of the hcg diet?

Small amounts ok: In the recovery phase you must weigh yourself daily, and if weight increases than , skip breakfast and lunch, drink plenty of water; eat huge steak with an apple and raw tomato for dinner.

Q: what are some gluten and wheat free breakfast ideas?

Gluten-Free Diet: A few gluten-free suggestions are hard boiled eggs, omelet, fruits, meats, cheeses, yogurt, green smoothie, tofu scramble,etc.

Bad idea: The reason you're having such a tough time finding a doctor is that the hCG diet is not a great idea. It is a severe calorie restricted diet. You may initially lose some weight quickly, but the effect will not last. Studies of the diet have shown no value in managing obesity, and it carries significant potential for side effects, including blood clots, headaches, and hair thinning, among others.

sono was done on 12/30 hcg levels 4059. she didn't see a sac or yolk. no idea how far i am but early. is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Not normal: When hcg levels are over 4000, the sac should be seen.  It's highly suggestive of an ectopic pregnancy.  If the sac isn't inside the uterus, it's somewhere else.  Seek help.
