Hcg levels: Sometimes nothing is present until 3000plus.  When a pregnancy shows up on Ultrasound varies.  I tend to repeat levels to see if rising appropriately (at least 15-20%) in 3 days is ok and most of my early pregnancies I do a progesterone level.  Most ectopic or non viable pregnancies will quickly drop progesterone below 2.  See if your doc will order another hcg and progesterone or repeat US 1 wk.

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, rapidly doubling HCG levels mean pregnancy or tumor of the chorionic tissue. You need to discuss it the the doctor who is ordering the tests.

had a ultrasound for my first prenatal appointment but they just found a sac. they said it may be to early. hcg levels were 35k then 34k. is this bad?

Repeat sono: Should have seen more fetal development at that HCG level, however I would suggest repeating the songram  possibly trans-vaginal, to be sure.

Depends: By transvaginal us, the embryo can often be seen quite early but should be seen by 2000 miu/ml.

By transabdominal us, it should be seen by 6000 miu/ml.

8to12 weeks pregnant: By HCG values you may be 8to12 weeks pregnant and ultrasond you can hear the babies heart beat and may be able to see arms and leg buds.

my hcg level is 400 and they can't see anything on the ultrasound, is this normal?  i'm not sure how far along i am.

Possibilities: An HCG level of 400 is not 'normal' unless you are pregnant.  If you have a normal intrauterine pregnancy an ultrasound should show it if it is far enough along to make detectably increased hcg.  So you might be pregnant, or you might have something else, such as a tumor, that makes hcg.  Your doctor will have more information to help figure this out.

on oct 22 my hcg level was 5000 and  i been getting positive test. on today i went for an ultrasound and they couldn't find anything. should i be worried?

5000: It's tricky to give  good answer without more information but basically you should see an intrauterine pregnancy at hCG above 2000. You would NOT however see fetal pole or heartbeats at 5000. Work closely with your doctor, hope this helps.

Hcg level: probably around 5 weeks since LMP.  You often times don't see anything at this level.  If concerned have your provider repeat it and make sure it is rising appropriately.

hcg levels went from 439 to 510 no sigh of baby on ultrasound. slow rising levels. don't know how far along i am. what are the possibilities?

Defer to OB: I am always sympathetic to the anxiety these situations cause. What does the doctor who is taking care of you, ordering these tests and the ultrasound telling you? It surely sounds like the pregnancy is not viable.

had first ultrasound at 7 weeks 6 days. no cardiac activity and baby measured 6 weeks. hcg level 46750. is it possible to have a good outcome?

Needs reassessment!: Too early to conclude something bad happened to baby. Need a repeat ultrasound and HCG to see if there is a change. I feel your pain and anxiety. Hang tight! best of luck!
