Usually none: Infrequently may feel some mild transient cramping, or residual loose stools from the prep.  Perianal discomfort rarely.  After colon biopsy scant bleeding can be seen. Abnormal would be severe pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, which could indicate a possible emergency from a complication of the test, for which medical advise is urgent.

are there any alternatives to colonoscopies to diagnose gi problems?

Yes, but...: There are alternatives to the colonoscopy, such at ct colonography, which utilizes a ct scan to look at your colon.  

However, for GI problems, depending on symptomatology, one might need an upper endoscopy, upper GI study with small bowel follow through, pill endoscopy, or transit time studies.  Make sure you are evaluated by your physician who can help you decide which test would be best.

Depends: Depending on your symptoms there are a few other options. In the end, however - if they find something you will likely still need a colonoscopy.

Not a thing: Rope worms do not exist. Relax, if you had normal tests then you don't have any real parasites either.

i had a colonoscopy about 3 years ago. before my bowls ran like clock work no problem. since then it's like a cow patty no foam very messy (not diarra exactly) everything blasts out at once i can control itbtw colonoscopy was clear no problems?

: You may just need to rebuild your regular bowel function after the "washout" required by the procedure to evaluate the intestinal walls. Consumption of bananas, apples rice and breads can slow &amp; bulk up your system. It's worth a try.

Unlikely: You likely had a thorough bowel prep- evacuation, so it will take a build up time.

Banding: Banding affects only the banded hemorrhoids.  The external hemorrhoids are not affected unless the internal hemorrhoids were coming out to become external one.

Musculoskeletal pain: This sounds like pain in the lower vertebral columntry Ibuprofen for 2-3 days if not better see your internist.
