Chest pain: If the pain is triggered by movement it's likely due to a muscular or bone issue not cardiac try some tylenol (acetaminophen) see if it helps.

Exam: At your age and without the advantage of your clinical history and exam, i would recommend you contact your doctor for a good exam with whatever he/she feels appropriate given the entire picture.  There are a number of possibilities ranging from the trivial to the deadly serious.

Chest pains: One possible cause is a pinched intercostal nerve or irritated/inflamed muscle. The nerve runs between two ribs and a deep breath causes a sharp,shooting pain. This is more if a nuisance disorder rather than anything serious and usually no specific treatment is needed. Discuss this with your physician.

Not likely: Hypersensitivity pneumonitis appears more likely providing your symptoms were triggered by inhaling cement dust. Definitely worth checking with your doc and getting a chest X-Ray.

Sometimes: Chest pain can have many etiologies some times the muscles and ligaments around chest are strained. This is common. Sometimes injury to ribs such as fracture cause pain with breathing.Inflammation of the linking of lungs, pleuritis is another etiology. The most serious problem would be pulmonary emboli from thrombus in legs or extremties. If problem continues, should consult physician.

Go to ER: Although your symptom may be from a gastrointestinal problem, it may also be a sign of a cardiac problem.  It is wisest and safest to go to an emergency room and be sure it isn't your heart.

: At your age this is likely the effect of stomach acid backwashing into the lower swallow tube. That junction is just to the left of and behind the heart. Caffeine, acidic foods and laying down after feeds can aggravate this. Antacid tablets can give some brief relief. Changing your diet also helps. Your doc can confirm this.

my mum is 33 has been getting very strong tight chest pains that don't allow her to move.please help im scared this is unusual ?
