Not aphthous ulcers: Aphthous ulcers are generally painful ulcers that occur in the mouth. Typically called 'canker sore', they are recurrent.  Since aphthous means ulcer (latin, it's all in the latin), therefore it is a redundant term, and more accurate is the diagnosis of 'aphthous stomatitis'.  
Among the many associations with other problems, one is a colon disorder known as crohn's; but the ulcer is in the mouth.

Ulcers in bowel: The ulcers associated with ulcerative colitis are located in the colon, whereas ulcers in crohn's disease may be found anywhere in the gut from the mouth (aphthous ulcers) to the anus. Ulcerative colitis ulcers are typically shallow and more numerous, while crohn's disease ulcers are usually deeper and with more distinct borders.

Biopsy: It is likely that a biopsy was done of the lesions in the intestine. Microscopic examination of the biopsy by a pathologist should provide important information about the diagnosis. There are blood tests that may support the diagnosis.

cbc and iron levels now normal 4 weeks after iron infusion. colonoscopy saw small ulcers in the terminal ileum of the small bowel can this be crohn's?

Could be: Small ulcers in the terminal ileim is usually crohn's disease. They also can occasionally come from  NSAID (ibuprofen) use or certain infections like tb. Talk with your doctor to see what the biopsies show. The biopsies should help distinguish the cause. It's also helpful to have imaging of the small bowel by MRI or ct or barium small bowel follow through to determine the extent of involvement.

chronic epigastric pain. eeg = ulcers, colonoscopy = polyps(removed), ultrasound clear, barium swallow&small bowel normal. still awful pain! what now?

Any treatment: The ulcers are usually treated with proton pump inhibitors or H2 blockers and if H pylori postive treat for H pylori and standard ulcer precautions

: If liver function blood tests were normal, with a normal mrcp there's a good chance that the dilated bile ducts are insignificant. Erosive gastritis would not cause large amounts of mucus in stools, but inflammatory bowel disease can. Was there any sign of Crohn's disease in your studies as associated abdominal pain is strongly suggestive of inflammatory bowel disease. Was the ileum seen clearly?

Small or large?: Doesn't really make a lot of difference, but i suspect colonoscopy found ulcers in large intestine and your doc felt they might look like crohn's.   A good response to iron infusion does not change any of the thinking about whether those lesions are crohn's like.   The biopsy should give a lot more information.

what about the very bad somacth burn anytime i eat or go to the rest room some time the burn pain is in really bad went to the er last night and they gave me sucralfate colonoscopy cam back good could it be a ulcer or come with the small intestine?

Prevent trigger: See prior answers relating to these for much more discussion. Each person usually finds that certain things trigger them, e.g. Citrus fruits, lack of sleep, weight loss, iron, vitamin B12 or Folic Acid deficiency, trauma, braces. There are some systemic diseases associated with these: crohn's, behcets, celiac disease.   Also think of hot drinks. Oragel topically or antiviral rx early on may help.

what is the definition or description of: aphthous ulcers?

Canker sores: Apthous ulcers affect the loose mucosal surfaces of the oral cavity (cheeks, lips, tongue, etc).  They appear as a circular white ulcer with a red halo around the edges.  The cause is unknown, but thought to be viral.  The most common type, apthous minor, lasts about 10-14 days, are painful for the first 7-10 days, and heal on their own.  There is also apthous major and herpetiform apthous.
