Gum bumps: Bumps on gum usually are a sign of a periapical dental abscess and it requires treatment by a dentist as soon as possible.

Get checked: I am suspicious that you may have some sort of abscess, most commonly from an unhealthy tooth. Tooth infections can drain thru the bone to the gum, causing a small bump

No reason to worry: I'd recommend using BreathRx or some other mouth wash in the morning and before bed until it goes away completely.  Importantly - don't eat/drink anything except water after using the mouthwash at night as you don't want more food decaying in your mouth while you sleep.

See your dentist: A white area might be a gum infection, an abscess, or just an area of thin gum over normal bone. Gum boil, or fistula: Gum boil, or fistula is the drainage establish by the infection to relieve all the exudates.  When we have a chronic peridontal abscess or the endodontal abscess,  the infection must drain by establishing an epithelial tract to the mucosal surface.  This is called the fistula.  Once the drainage establish, the abscess usually does not exhibit any pain.

i noticed a small white bump on the front of my 4 y/o gums. it's not painful, and her teeth are in great condition, she's healthy otherwise. ideas?

Many possibilities: It could be from an infection in the tooth from trauma, small fibroma (benign), spot of irritation from fingers.  best way to rule out infections is to visit your dentist and have an xray to determine if there is an intra-boney infection.  if you can wipe it off it might be the start of a yeast infection

i have a slight swelling at the base of a 2 year old crown and root canal...no discharge or pain. not red or white bump just larger than other  gums .

Depends: depends, if it it is just at the base of the crown  you might just have a localized case of gingivitis in that area due to food trapping, lack of brushing well etc.  I would just monitor the area as I continue to brush normal (with a little more attention given to that area) &amp; if it get worse (where ibuprofen does not help pain) I would see my local dentist. No worries

Wrong people: You're talking to the wrong people.  You should be calling your Dentist about this.  You may have a dental or periodontal infection, present before the cleaning, but exacerbated by the tissue manipulation.  Call your Dentist.

Wisdom Teeth: Yes, the gum over the wisdom tooth may be sore, and a white bump on the gum tissue may indicate an infection. These are very common findings with impacted wisdom teeth, which it sounds like you have. You should see your dentist or an oral surgeon for evaluation and treatment. You may require treatment with antibiotics, but almost certainly the impacted wisdom tooth/teeth will need to be removed.
