See your doctor: Testicular lumps can be cancer or benign. You don't want to take a chance of misdiagnosing yourself. Testicular cancer can be extremely aggressive so don't delay. Go see your doctor for a thorough exam. S/he may order an ultrasound to determine if you have a mass inside the testicle, but hopefully it is something benign such as a cyst or varicocele (dilated blood vessels). Good luck!

Not likely related: There are several non-cancerous causes of lumps in and near the testicle. If it has been there for a long time, it is not likely cancer. A urologist specializes in these types of problems, and should be able to determine the cause of the lump.

Prob epidudymitid: most likely cause of the symptoms you describe in someone your age is an infection of the epididymis usually treated with antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds like ibuprofen . However I recommend you be examined by a urologist and get a testicular ultrasound.

noticed a hard lump shaped like rice in the tube behind my testicle a few years ago, wasnt causing any pain and isnt attached but theres now pain in the tubes behind. could this be cancerous even if not attached or is the pain likely an infection?

: Sometimes there is a structure called appendix testis  which conforms to what you describe and is not cancerous. Cancer occurs in the body of the testicle. Have your doc or a Urologist teach you how to examine the testicle proper for cancer

bilateral open inguinal hernia repair 7 days ago. now have a small semi hard lump attached to the top of my right testicle that pushes out  into the skin of my scrotum. non tender. lots of swelling and purple bruising to the right side of scrotum. ?

Ice!: This may represent a hematoma (collection of blood gravity has pulled down into the scrotum), or a seroma—just a collection of tissue fluid following the ‘trauma” of surgery. I’d recommend wearing an athletic supporter and, when relaxing, using ice packs (a bag of frozen peas or a bag of niblets corn work great) two or three times daily for 15 minutes to reduce swelling. Speedy recovery!

Testicle lump: Many types of lumps can appear in scrotum.  Epididimytis is usually painful needs to be treated with antibiotics. Varicocele is a wavy lump not painful maybe associated with decreased sorry count avoid hot tub.  See your doctor.  You need to have a testicle ultrasound to check it out.

See below: There are a number of causes of “lumps” in the scrotum and all scrotal masses need to be examined by a doctor, even if not associated with pain or other symptoms. If the “lump” is arising from testicle, the most important cause to rule out is Testicular Cancer. If separate from the testicle, an epididymal cyst or spermatocele is the most common. Other common causes: epididymitis and varicocele.

Get checked: Especially if this is a new lump, someone should examine you. Lumps in the testicle can be cancer, and the earlier it is found the better. Other less serious things can cause lumps, such as infections, changes in blood vessels or other "plumbing" there, but you need to discuss this problem with your physician.
