It doesn't: Reflexology is completely bogus. It has no basis in fact whatsoever. Reflexologists have no training in anything medical or anatomical. A reflexologist is either woefully ignorant if he believes that what he does is real, or dishonest if he knows it isn't. Either way, it's claptrap. Be skeptical. Think critically. "Ancient wisdom" is a myth. Seek knowledge, not worthless superstitions.

Skin- organ connects: Belief that internal organs are expressed on the surface of hands and feet allows the reflexologist to stimulate or diminish that organs activity.

Accepted Answer

Not a proven therapy: Realy don't know. Probably reflexology charts online?  Unfortunately, there are no double blind placebo controlled studies that indicate any clinical effectiveness of reflexology.

Schedule a visit: You need to set up an office visit with your doctor. There are too many possibilities that need to be excluded. I would not be surprised if lab work is indicated.

If persist get check: It may be temporary due o way you slept and there was pressure on the nerve, but if it persists than have it checked by your doctor or a neurolgist.

No worry: do not worry.
it happens often.
our blood become thinner and we becomes easy to bleed.
our skin become more fragile and easy to bruise.
simple itching that will make you rubbed your eye while you sleep, will leave you with a black eye.
do not worry everything is OK.
apply ice, and it will go away.

inguinal hernia or muscle bulge? i am a 22 year old female, about january i have had a little hard bulge along my right external oblique what would be the "v" muscle... its about the size of a thumb print. i decided just to ignore it because it didn't hur

A : A bulge in your abdominal wall that comes out when you cough or sit up and then goes back down when you lay down sounds very concerning for a hernia.  You need to see a general surgeon and have them look at it and see what they think.  The ultrasound is ok if you've already been scheduled, but it isn't always going to be accurate in diagnosing a hernia.  Even if the u/s comes back saying that a hernia isn't seen, it doesn't mean you don't have one.  Hernias are one of the most common conditions that a surgeon sees and most people still think that a physical exam done by a surgeon is the best way to diagnose whether or not you have a hernia.

body is very stiff.  does reflexology help?  i am fifty and just starting to be active again after a knee injury.

Minimally for most: Reflexology has not been proven in randomized controlled trials to improve stiffness. Make sure obtain a general physical. If approved for ongoing exercise, consider starting with a trainer who will hopefully demonstrate proper warm up and cool down. Consider periodic massage.

Reflexology may: have distracted you from the tooth pain temporarily.  I have great respect for comp. and alt. treatments but if a dentist and a second opinion suggest root canal or removal please take that advice seriously.  Peace and good health.

Of course: Reflexology is a time-honored folk practice that has resisted scientific efforts to demonstrate its effectiveness in honest, controlled studies. The magic may be in the practitioner. This clothespin technique, which i've seen in reflexology books as well as on websites, looks easy enough for you to do in the privacy of your own room without help.
