Allow grieving: Pets become family. The loss of any family member is difficult at best. All the things that occur with any death in the family can occur when one loses a pet. Two or three months of grieving is reasonable, any longer runs the risk of developing disabling depression. Talk to those you trust about your loss, especially if you live alone. At the appropriate time you may want to get a new puppy.

There is hope.: This is a painful place to be. If the age listed is correct (33 years old) then I have to wonder if  you might be depressed. Encourage you to see your physician. He or she can evaluate for clinical depression, other psychiatric issues & for medical conditions that could be causative.  Regardless of the cause of your loss of motivation to keep living, talking therapy is essential.
