Yes, but...: One has to follow the doctor's or the lab's instructions. The stool test looks for parts of the bacteria, which means a diluted sample such as a watery stool might get a negative test result even with some H. pylori bacteria present. That's why the lab doesn't want watery stool. After stomach symptoms are gone, and after waiting an amount of time instructed by one's doctor, the stool test is done.

Better than blood: H. Pylori is a bacteria that live sin the stomach and is associated w ulcers.  The breath test and stool test are very reliable in showing the current  presence of disease and if treatment for the disease worked.  Blood test show mostly old infections and are not as accurate as the above 2.  The most accurate test is a biopsy of the stomach lining with a safe but invasive test called an endoscopy.

No, but: Avoid providing a stool sample if you either have diarrhoea or constipation, give the sample when you have regular bowel habits. Ask the lab about instructions to keep the sample till tested, (e.g. refrigeration for how long, till delivered to the lab), good luck

: I've heard it said that both are of equal accuracy but some clinicians prefer the stool antigen test. Does your laboratory have more experience with one or the other? If so, I'd go with the one your laboratory prefers and uses the most.

Easier 4 you: The breath test costs twice as much as the stool test and the blood test even more. The breath test is newer and may not be available where you were tested but most likely, whoever is paying for your test decided it wasn't worth the extra expense.

No: The blood test can be positive for years and can be affected by a number of meds. The stool test is much more accurate and less affected by medications. If the stool test was negative then you likely don't have the infection.

2 months: We almost never check a stool test for a test of cure. If you treated it we assume it's eradicated. However, to be on the safe side I would wait 2 months for the antigen to clear.

Past infection: These results suggest past infection with H. pylori. The blood test can remain positive for years after past infection even if you were treated.  The stool test and urea breath test can better detect current infection.  The gold standard for testing is a biopsy during endoscopy.
