Store or online: These will be readily available at a local store (try one of your buying clubs or local drug store) or online.  Most adults can take two of children's gummy vitamins, but read the label to be safe.

Always good to eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, get plenty of rest and have regular physical activity.

Keep on higher shelf: Most OTC vitamins are benign - do little good, do little harm.  Somewhat depends on how many he swallowed and composition of vitamin.  Check with poison control.  Put on higher shelf.  Other “pretty” meds could be more serious

No- unless with iron: The only ingredient potentially found in gummy vitamins that could cause a lethal overdose is iron. However, most gummy vitamins do not contain iron- i actually searched quite a bit and could not find any. This is likely to prevent overdose problems. And if they did you would have to take a huge amount- a lethal dose is at least 60 mg/kg, so an overdose for a 50 lb person would be about 1400 mg.

Depends: Depends on what is in the vitamins, how many they took, and how much the child weighs.  To be safe, please call poison control @ 1-800-222-1222.

Drug overdose: If these Little critters multivitamins have iron in them or he is vomiting,  he should be seen in ER for x-rays of belly and blood work.  Keep the  multivitamins away from him. Do not give him any multivitamin for the next 3 wks.  Remember even multivitamins are a drug with doses for children and adults.  If the multivitamins do not contain iron, he can be seen in the doctors office this week.

Little: You will probably get a sugar hit as gummie vitamins are sugar based.  Most of the vitamins will immediately get excreted in your urine after they are picked up by your body stores.  You will almost certainly have no detectable effects.

Call ASAP: You need to check immediately with your local poison control center to determine if there is danger!

Poison Control: Best to call poison control if this happens.  Vitamin toxicity/overdose is a very real possibility.  Are these multi-vitamin gummies, or a specific vitamin?

Accepted Answer

None: If you eat well (mostly plant-based diet, limited prepared/frozen/restaurant foods), exercise several times per week, are in good medical condition (especially heart, blood pressure, diabetes, kidney, etc.), then you don't need any vitamins. If you are vegan, you need only B12 supplements. You can take calcium + D for your bones but that is not universally required depending on the above.

Yes : yes  once unlikely However taking more than the recommended amount of vitamins for weeks or months can definitely cause harm or toxicity or side effects
