Groin nodes: Are found in few cancers and lymphoma.  Cancers do not wax and wane, but lymphomas might.

Groin lump: It is most likely a lymph node, but it could also be a cyst or nodule.  Regardless, a hard lump should be evaluated by your physician, and if it is a lymph node further testing should be pursued.

Should be ok: you are a week away from the day of operation and there will be 4 days of  Easter holiday so in fact you are 1-2 working days away from having your surgery

Be seen now!!: There are a number of possibilities.
Lymphadenopathy, lymphoma, some other tumor, sarcoma, or even a giant hernia-less likely.
General surgery or oncologist surgery may be best to start.

No: lymph nodes eare found around major venous structures that drain important body parts.  The groin nodes along femoral vein drain leg and perineum. Nodes in axilla drain upper extremities and breast. Nodes in neck drain oral cavity.  When felt in groin and clustered , they must be watched for increase in number and size with bx considered if such happens to assure neoplasm not rsponsible.

Ideas: Hopefully the revision was a total hip if you still have hip pain after total look for a secondary diagnosis bone scan MRI of( spine si joint )can all mimic hip pain.

Seek medical evaluat: The groin has a high concentration of lymph nodes. Not necessarily cancer, but needs evaluated by your doctor. May just need antibiotics. Might need biopsy.

ortho onc ordered xr femur based on proximal femur tumor found on mri pelvis. lytic lesion w/ill defined margins 2.3x7.7cm filling most of medullary cavity, no periosteal reaction, cortex intact. rad cant id type. whats the chance of malignancy?

: If the radiologist couldn't make his (her) impression based on the MRI of the pelvis and plain X-ray of the femur, no way can we offer of any help, especially we do not know your medical history. Please patiently wait for the follow up appt with your orthopedic oncologist. Good luck.
