the nail on my left big toe is ligh brown/gray and is very corse feeling to it. it has stopped growing as well. what is it? what can i do to fix it?

Onychomycosis: This is likely a fungal infection of the toenail (onychomycosis) -- treatment options include medications (taken once daily for three months), seeing a podiatrist to have the nail addressed, or the use of otc Vicks vapo rub (there is anecdotal evidence to support the use of Vicks vapo rub twice daily for several months to reduce the coarseness of the nail).

Loose nail...: I can't be sure, but it sounds as though the nail is loosely attached to the bed or not attached at all. To remove all doubt, have your toe evaluated by a specialist.

Where is it: if it's on the toenail it could be a fungal infection. If it's on the skin it may be a skin lesion related to poor circulation or it could be cancerous in nature. You would need an evaluation and biopsy.

Is the lesion irregular and rapidly growing?

Discoloration: in the toenails can be an indication of nail fungus.  You need to have it looked at by a Podiatrist for proper diagnosis and treatment plan.  If that is the issue there are many good natural and prescription medications that will take care of it!

my foot was run over by a car abt 7 days ago. just yesterday my big toenail turned grey/purple and is lifting on the side. is there anything i can do?

Yes.: The crush injury to ft left u with at least destruction of toenail itself and/or the nailed at base, where new nail grows. Hopefully, u iced it, which is effective for decrease pain, swelling, slow down damage to tissue for 1st 48 hrs. X-ray it, because small bones in ft can fx & necrose.. If only nail damaged, can protect it & let new nail grow, or have removed by podiatrist. Either way, c doc.

my girlfriend complains about her feet being cold constantly so when i looked at her foot portion of the bottom was gray what does this mean?

Possible Raynaud's: Which is a vasospasm of blood vessels in cold weather, sometimes can be stress related. However, since we can't see the foot, i would recommend a doc check it out in person.

Ice it: You can use stairs....Just alter the way you walk. Use more of a steppage gait. Lifting the foot shouldn't hurt as much as dorsiflexing it.

Wart?: You may consider it being a plantar wart which often look gray and can increase in size without pain or itching. If he's growing another one, he may be reinfecting himself as it is caused by a virus. You can try over the counter wart removal products like salicylic acid  or bichloracetic acid or self-freezing kits. Or you can have your doctor look at it and possibly freeze it with liquid nitrogen
