Grade 1: Internal hemorrhoids do not hurt! this is probably an anal fissure due to hard stool or following a bout of diarrhea. See a colon and rectal surgeon for confirmation and treatment.

Hemmorhoids: It is a very common problem, not to worry. Can be related to either constipation or diarrhea. 
Hemorrhoids should be evaluated by a colo-rectal or general surgeon 

you will require dietary, bathroom habit modifications and sometimes office based procedures if medical management is ineffective
 grade 1 has bleeding only.

See below: You may be able to avoid irritating the internal hemorrhoids. Drink plenty of liquids, eat high fiberr foods like fruits & vegetables, take fiber supplements like metamucil, avoid constipation and straining or sitting too long at the toilet. Suppositories may relieve a little. See a surgeon for possible hemorrhoid banding procedure if persistent problems.

No: We are born with hemorrhoid tissue and there are 3 that each have an internal and external component.  They are soft and really should not affect the stool or its shape.

No difference: Hello.  Hemorrhoids can be managed in a variety of ways. Internal and external just refer to location.  A digital rectal  exam is needed to feel internal hemorrhoids.  Try using an OTC mediation if you have pain.  If no change,  see your regular doctor again for options.  If you have blood in your stool, there may be something additional going on and you need evaluation ASAP.

Anal pain: The discomfort may be due to a thrombosed hemorrhoid, anal fissure or perianal abscess. For best care, treatment and follow-up   consult a proctologist or colorectal surgeon. In the meantime apply warm compresses.

More possibilities: While an internal hemorrhoid is likely, other sources for bleeding cannot be excluded. Best would be to bring it to the attention of your primary care doc at earliest convenience. Mean time use stool softener, adequate hydration, steroid base cream or suppository.

Rarely: You are young for colon cancer.  This is a possibility but rare.  If you are real concerned look up a good general surgeon an exam

Hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids on one side of the rectum could produce the result you saw. Hemorrhoids can recur but are treatable. Please consult your doctor for the treatment.
