i accidentally touched my lip after finger was in ear. i forgot that i had used neomycin ear drops a few hours earlier. my lip tasted really bitter. i am concerned i got poisoned over this exposure?

: Due to the fact that you are noticing ear symptoms along with dizziness and balance issues when you walk, this could be an inner ear issue that is related to the blocked feeling he have in your ears. A face to face examto look at your ear canal, eardrum and assess for a possible infection that is behind the eardrum would be very helpful. Treatment for inner ear issues include Epley maneuvers.

have r 2 weeks now..also in my ears so feel head dizzy..dr has prescribed doxycycline , ear drops and betahistine..how long will it take to feel better?

Ear infection: If in fact you have a bacterial infection then the antibiotics should have improved symptoms in under a week. You may have a condition that is not an infection, or an antibiotic resistant infection.  Either way your doctor should be notified of current symptoms to make possible changes in your treatment.  Call the doctor and explain your concerns with as accurate a history as you can remember.

gave ciprodex otic (ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone) ear drops to child & she claimed it got into her mouth (maybe draining from eustachian tube) did not see it get in mouth. harmful??

Ciprodex in mouth: Greetings. The ciprodex could get into the mouth after applying to the ear canals if your child has a perforation in her ear/s or if she has PE tubes. The drops could travel down the Eustachian tubes into the back of the mouth and throat. Even if directly applied to the mouth, it is a very low dose and will not cause any harmful problems.

why does my son say his mouth hurts after giving him some cortisporin (neomycin polymyxin and hydrocortisone) ear drops an hour ago?

i have a middle ear infection. i was only able to take augmentin for 5 days before getting mouth blisters and had to stop. now on ofloxacin ear drops. will drops get rid of this?

Accepted Answer

: The 5 days of Augmentin may be enough to clear up the ear drum infection, but the drum would have to be examined to be sure. Since antibiotic ear drops are used to treat infections of the ear canal only, they won't be effective for an infection of the ear drum.

i cant hear anything from my right its been two days i though it was just blocked...ive been using ear drops and they dont seem to be working ?

: I assume you are using ear removal drops like debrox. Maybe it needs more time or your canals need manual addition, there could be an infection, nerve problem, . There are other possibilities . See a doctor
