i have a pulse in my stomach and had it for a while now it sometimes comes with pain other it don't, could you tell me what it is?

Aorta: The aorta, which is the main vessel for blood leaving the heart, traverses the midline of the abdomen before splitting into to two smaller vessels to carry blood to the legs. The pulse of the abdominal portion of the aorta is easily felt in most people. The pain may be unrelated to your aorta (such as intestinal gas) in the absence of lightheadedness or radiation of pain to the back or legs.

iam 23 yrold not ovrwght last three days i've been feeling pulse in my stomach in between when iam sitting for long ,eating something, or after i go to the washroom do i haveto be worried about it or is it normal and will go itself and why isit causd?

: An abdominal examination is recommended. It may be normal, but it is best to follow up. If you experience dizziness, light headedness, vomiting or pain, please see acute care.

Possibly: The abdominal aorta may be easily palpable in a slender person with no abnormality.  Check your BP to see that it is not elevated.  Have your abdomen examined to screen for possible aneurysm.

Aortic aneurysm: Around 65yo, we recommend one time screening ultrasound in men who('ve) smoke(d) to look for AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm). Or we might order earlier if we feel especially large/wide bounding pulse in your belly.  Best to go see your Family Doc for evaluation.

Unlikely: You're 18. I'm guessing you're thin? If so, it's perfectly normal to feel your abdominal aorta (your biggest artery) when you lie on your back.

Pulse in body: Our pulse can be felt throughout the body, easier in some spots than other, e.g., the wrist or the neck.  Feeling a pulse in your stomach is normal but for peace of mind and to rule out anything else you might sense see your doc.  He/she will put your mind at ease.

Aortic pulse: In thin patients, we can feel abdominal aorta in the midline, you are probably feeling that. I would ask your doctor during the next physical.

A palpable or: prominent pulse in your stomach maybe related to an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which is a bad diagnosis to have as it can be life threatening if given time to grow. Aorta: You are likely feeling the normal pulse of your abdominal aorta(the main artery in your abdomen), more noticeable when you're laying down. This is common in relatively thin people especially when lying down, and you've probably just become aware of it. That said, you should still see your doctor to have a physical exam, especially checking your blood pressure. Hope that helps
