Let me explain: Most of testicle dose not hang perfectly symmetrical to each other’s.
If you have one large testicle is bigger than the other for a reason. Varicose veins, hydrocele, tumors and infections.

Man stuff: The positioning of these glands is variable. They are moved up and twisted around by your cremaster muscles and it sounds like yours is working a little extra. In 9th month usually: Generally they descend into the scrotal sac during the 9th month of pregnancy, sometimes earlier. Some boys are born with undescended testicle(s). If there are no other associated medical issues, they usually come down by 6 months of age.  Very few are still undescended by that time. These need to be followed closely and will likely need to be brought down surgically as it may affect fertility.

Confusing question: The testis normally descend into the scrotum  around the 28th week of pregnancy. There persence may be dificult to verify due to peroneal fat, or the presence of fluid in the sac like structure that surrounds them. I don't know what u mean by drop. If your 2yo's testis are not in the scrotum, u should see his dr.Undescended testis have reduced fertility & most like to bring them down by 1yo.

No, not necesarily: So if you had an operation for 1 undescended testis, then you should still have one normal testicle. If that is the case, then the normal testicle should still be fertile. The undescended one is often sterile. The best way to answer this question is to check with your surgeon and/or test your sperm count and functionality.

Hydroceole/Hernia: Sounds like a communicating hydroceole with or without a hernia:  if the passage from your abdominal cavity to your scrotum on that side has not closed off spontaneously, then abdiominal fluid can pass in and out of the space around your testicle. The passage (a patent processus vaginalis) is also the site/cause for a hernia.  You should be evaluated by a urologist or general surgeon.

Examine in tub: Place him in a warm bath &amp; see if you can feel them then. Occasionally they will withdraw high into the sac/groin  but drop in this setting. If you still cannot  feel them let his doc know. In some cases they do not complete the journey from inside the abdomen to the sac &amp; must be located &amp;  brought down surgically.

Prob normal see doc: The testicles are suspended from &amp; tethered to the abdomen. They drop when you lean forward. Healthy testicles require a temperature a few degrees below body temp. Muscles retract the testicles to keep them warm and drop them to gain more air circulation to cool them. Still, without a history and exam we cant be sure of what you are describing or if the back pain is  related so see a doctor soon.

my husband had left inguinal hernia surgery 10 days ago. left testicle swollen, hard and is up very high near groin. is this normal? when will it drop

Post Op Complication: Please have your husband contact the surgeon. He would have been given specific post operative instructions to take home. These instructions will describe what is normal and not normal and how to contact the surgeon should a post op complication arise.
