It also deals with chronic medical illness that helps to slow down the progression of disease as well as appropriate medication and disease management/treatment. Common with both: Yes, geriatric ladies and men can suffer from depression and anxiety.  It can be very difficulty watching your peers have dramatic declines in functioning and attending funerals of your peers.  Many find it quite depressing as they gradually lose their physical and mental abilities.  Medicare covers mental health services so no reason to just suffer.

under 65 you may qualify if you are disabled or on dialysis.
