all blood tests are normal i do have some gerd. i have developed burning mouth syndrome symptoms. i take propranolol 60mg er daily and i've tapered from klonopin 1mg since january to now 0.5mg. can the symptoms i'm having be part of the withdrawal?

Burning mouth: Take a look at your diet. Discontinue alcohol, acidic foods, acidic fruits, smoking, mouthwashes, spicy foods. Bland diet for three weeks.

Probably: If you have pain radiation to the scapula and bitter taste in the mouth called water brash and burning in the throat it is very possible you may have reflux.  Try adjusting your diet and changing your lifestyle which in most cases will affect and reduce reflux, additionally you should see your primary, antacids and /or medications such as prilosec can be trailed for symptom control initially.

i was diagnosed with gerd years ago. however, lately my stomach, chest, throat and mouth has been burning, unlike my usual symptoms. when i stand, it feels like hot acid is released right below my chest and underarm area. is this more than gerd?

: An evaluation is recommended. The pain may represent a gastric ulcer or another GI condition. Watch for signs of fever, vomiting and nausea. A daily serving of yogurt is often effective in promoting gut health.

Acid Reflux: Your symptoms are typical for acid reflux. When lying horizontal, the reflux worsens. Try to not eat anything within 2 hours of retiring. Sometimes elevating the head of the bed by propping up the front legs with blocks can help. Anti acids like Mylanta can provide some relief as can over the counter medications like Nexium (esomeprazole) and Prilosec. If the symptoms persist, see your doctor.

: Auto-antibody to Scl 70 alone is not sufficient. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. It would be prudent to consult a rheumatologist.

Some thoughts...: Persistent chapped lips may be lip eczema, which can be treated like skin eczema, using hydrocortisone cream, plus Vaseline or Aquaphor to moisturize. Sometimes, lipsticks or lip sunscreen chemicals are causing an allergic reaction on the lips. Other times, a person is a primary lip-licker (it&#x27;s his habit). Once cracked, lips get irritated by routine foods and juices. A doctor can sort things out.

i have a rash under my bottom lip. dont have any other symptoms of herpes like burning urine or sores "down there" it doesn't hurt just itches?

Rash: It would be rash of me to try and suggest a diagnosis without seeing this eruption.  You need to be examined by a doctor and have suggestions made for cause and treatment. Good luck.

Sun damage or eczema: Most likely is sun damage, if you are "matured" person. 
But, eczema also likely. It's called cheilitis. In this case, prescription-strengthed hydrocorticone ointment would help.

Let me explain: Rash is any kind of skin change that leads to a change in the color and the texture of the skin. 
Several causes for lip rash.
Actinic cheilitis, 
cold sores
angular cheilitis
common wart
squamous cell carcinoma
contact dermatitis
food allergy
each one have it own treatment.

rash lining and inside lips; started with itching, turned to burning later on.. i have started using the vasoline and it is working wonderful,  but i wanted to find out if this is most likely a skin contact rash or something ingested?

Could be either one: What you describe could come from contact with a substance, like lip product, that you came in contact with. You may be allergic to one of the components. It is also possible that you had an allergic reaction to something you ate. Try to look back over the time just before you got the rash and figure out what it might have been. It does not sound like herpes if burning went away quickly.
