does dexorange capsules contains sugar? as i heard dexorange syrup contains sugar. can i take the capsules on daily basis if my diabetes is in border line and have pcod. my hemoglobin and iron level is low so can i take?

: I would like you to verify that the capsules don't contain sugar. I wouldn't think so. Of course the syrup form most likely does. For true iron deficiency dexorange capsules probably don't contain sufficient iron. Do they make your stools blackish?  Your MD, who knows your iron level can advise you best.

Varies: There are in excess of several hundred recorded mutations in the hemoglobin molecules & some are little more than a curiosity and some (sickle cell) could have significant implications.The screening process just selects those who need to be looked at more closely. I would not spend a lot of emotional energy at this point. Get more facts first.

I will try: A protein has a complex twisted and folded shape that is dependent on the interactions of amino acids that can be far from the amino acid change. Some amino acids are charged (positive or negative) and some are not. Charged amino acids can repel or attract.

Needs follow up test: Abnormal hemoglobin screening on a newborn exam often needs a repeat test for confirmation.  This test can pick up hemoglobin disorders early, before the cause other problems.  But not all abnormal screening tests are dangerous.

D/w MD: I don't know what it means. You should ask your doctor or go to the lab where you had the blood work and ask for a copy of the result. Once you gets the copy , you should discuss the result with your doctor.  It is not enough to say that it is abnormal.

Depends: Is it a low hemoglobin level or an abnormal form of hemoglobin?  A low hemoglobin level is generally associated with anemia, and can usually be treated (for example with iron supplements if it's due to iron deficiency.)  an abnormal form of hemoglobin is different. It can be detected on the newborn screen or other specialized tests, and can be associated with sickle cell anemia or thalassemia.

Yes: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your results suggest iron deficiency anemia, and you should consult your doctor for treatment. At a minimum you should take oral iron and multivitamin supplements.

Anemia of Pregnancy: Because your body increases its blood volume during pregnancy, the amount of blood cells can often be diluted and women can become anemic. You can start an iron supplement like ferrous sulfate 325mg taken once daily or twice daily to increase your hemoglobin.

im having irregular and prolonged periods. my gyn is going to make an hysteroscopy, in may my hemoglobin was 13, ive been 18 days this month, with clots some days, could my hemoglobin be really low?

Sounds like: She is looking for endometriosis . I assume fibroids have been ruled out . At least you are not anemic and that is a good thing!!!
