Family doctors' treat a wide variety of patients including babies, kids, adults with a wider range of diagnostics and treatments including pediatric and ob/gynecologic ; internal.

Hard work: Having a strong background and general knowledge of sciences and biology in general will certainly help when studying medicine, however, if you are a hard worker and can study and learn well with dedication and a strong desire to excel, you may do just as well as the person who has the science background.  An example would be a person who majored in undergrad english, but ended up in med school.

Internal medicine-completed 3 year residency program during which they rotate through internal medicine hospital units and clinics.
General practice- starting to practice medicine after graduating from med school.
