Idiopathic gastropar: Gastroparesis is a syndrome caused by ineffective propulsion of intragastric contents, indistinguishable clinically from true mechanical obstruction.2 Severity of symptoms varies enormously. In mild cases, patients present with early satiety, nausea, and mild abdominal pain, symptoms which, albeit annoying, are not life threatening. On other occasions, symptoms are highly incapacitating and patients suffer abdominal pain and chronic vomiting which may lead to dehydration and nutritional impairment. In almost 50% of cases no apparent cause is identified2; thus the diagnosis of idiopathic gastroparesis (IG) is established

With meals: Not sure what the question is asking but if you are taking this med for gastroparesis, you should take it 30 min before your big meals, so essentially, 3x/day.

None: No herbal medication has been proven effective for gastroparesis although some are endorsed by naturopaths for this condition (Is there anything they won't claim effectiveness?).  See your family doctor or GI doctor for this condition.

Tylenol (acetaminophen): Tylenol (acetaminophen) is your best bet. It's very safe, easy on your kidneys and the placenta.  Keep hydrated, get extra rest. I hope you feel better soon!

Gastroparesis: Small portions, small meals, chew very well. Minimize meats. Minimize crust and chunky food.  Walk after eating. Drink a bit of fluid while eating.  Avoid constipation.  Eat lots of natural fiber.

bloodwork normal, upper endo normal.gi put me on reglan 5mg three times daily for a month to test for gastroparesis. no insurance, motility test too expensive. is this dose safe? how quickly will td set in if i am sensitive to this drug?

: Yes, it is safe, only 1/2 of the usual dose. If you respond to the medication you should see the improvement in the next 24-48 hours. However, if there is minimal or no improvement, dose should be doubled, 10 mg q 6-8 hours for a couple days before deciding the trial fails.

Yes: I have a relative in a similar situation.  He had crippling gastroparesis.  He was in and out of the hospital all the time. He had a gastric pacemaker placed and he has had a dramatic improvement in symptoms.  He hasn't required hospitalization for two years.  He got his life back.  It is an option when medical therapy has failed.  Google gastric pacemaker and read about it.  It's cool.

Yes: Or patients with at least symptomatic gastroparesis may have periods of being asymptomatic and other times have symptoms.

Gastroparesis Dx: The 'gold standard' is a radiology study called a 'gastric emptying study'. That being said, certain conditions identified during upper endoscopy can be diagnostic. For example a large bezoar - a mass of undigested food (typically) is usually diagnostic.
