If by catheter, you: Mean to drain urine, it is not always necessary...Only is you cannot pee after surgery.  There is nothing about gb surgery, now done laparascopically, that interfes with urination. Ask your surgeon how commonly hey need one. I'll bet under 50 it is quite unusual to require it. And it is inserted up the urethram into the bladder, not "on", which describes a condom catheter, for incontinence.

Varies: The most common symptom is right upper quadrant pain, which can radiate to the back.  There can be associated nausea, bloating, and increased flatulence. Eating triggers the symptoms, especially fatty and greasy foods.

Gallbladder disease: Gall stones are very common. Symptoms include ab pain after meals, especially fatty, spicy meals. Nausea and vomiting are also commonly present. Gall bladder cancer is much less common. Symptoms may mimic gall stone symptoms. The work up for both includes an ultrasound and blood work. Find a doctor near you for further care.

Most commonly…: The pain will be most commonly straight down from the nipple just below the right rib cage.  However, the pain can range from the mid abdomen all the way up to the right shoulder and even to the back. The pain is not always typical. Good luck.

See below: A normal gallbladder is about 3 to 4 inches long and about 1.5 to 2 inches wide. Normal capacity is up to 100 cc of bile so it is very light in weight.

GB sludge: The higher the fat content, the more sludge...thickened bile acids you’ll have. Not quite gallstones yet but on their way to form stones. Look at the fat in your diet. Make your fat count. Impossible to eliminate fat from diet..this is unhealthy to do. Focus on a balanced low carb Mediterranean diet..has good fat like monounsaturated fat.
