It Depends: If you have had symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, or even fevers, you should see a surgeon for consideration of removal of your gallbladder.  If your gallbladder is not causing you any problems, you can generally leave it alone.  This warrants a proper discussion with your physician based on your other medical problems..

No: Before undergoing  by pass surgery , you must try non operative means, go on diet join gym  etc. Gastric by pass is the lost resort , once done rarely reversed , .

is the dumping syndrome from gastric bypass pain similar to pain from an infected gallbladder?

Dumping syndrome: Not quite the same. Gallbladder pain is usually in the right upper quadrant, right under your ribcage. Dumping is more of a generalized abdominal cramping, plus cold sweats, heart palpitations, maybe diarrhea.

Foods: Your situation MAY have something to do w/the foods you eat.  Because you have had GI surgery it is important that you eat properly as you  know.  Please see your doc tor and a nutritionist and mention the body odor.  Peace and good health.

why do i still have acute pain after having an islet cell transplant?  and the removal of my pancreas and gallbladder.  also a gastric bypass.

Talk to surgeon: Your problem seems complex.  I would expect there to be some post operative pain.  Your surgeon should be able to help with acute pain issues post op.

See your doctor: if you are having pain in the right upper quadrant with this lab pattern, it is possible that you could have a retained gallstone in your bile duct. It is important to see your doctor for further evaluation. Good luck.

had gastric bypass. egd clear. ultrasound shows sludge in gallbladder. can sludge still cause me pain in my right side and extreme nausea after eating?

Possibly.: Usually sludge in the gallbladder doesn't cause pain (gallstones can).  However, it may be that your gallbladder isn't functioning properly.  The best test to have done is a HIDA with cholecystokinin (a special nuclear medicine test that tells whether the gallbladder empties properly).  Your primary care doctor can order this, or your surgeon.  If positive, taking the gallbladder out can help.

Cbd is large: A common bile duct usually is not that dilated.  With history of bypass surgery a post operative stricture is a thought.  It is still possible  that a stone can be impacted at the opening.  But it is important to find out.  Talk to your doctor get to the bottom of this finding

Small stomach bypass: 90% of stomach is excluded with less than 10%  stomach  gastro intestinal continuity established , now stomach is small , called mini gastric by pass.
