might gall stones cause bowel issues?

Generally not: But I do not know what bowel issues you mean. Gallstone symptoms are usually upper abdominal discomfort and nausea a few hours after eating. Sometimes vomiting. Usually bowel function is normal. Diarrhea or constipatuon isuues are generally not related to gallstones.

they found a 3.8cm soft tissue density in my girlfriends abdomen along with gall stones, what can the soft tissue density be?

They are not related: These  two are not related to each other. The  gall bladder may need to be removed. Sometimes a biopsy of the mass is indicated but this  will depend on the clinical data. I suspect it is a benign tumor.

No: Ct scan of the abdomen is appropriate testing in your particular instance. There usually is no pain after the test. Relax.

i have extreme pain in my upper right abdomen, from middel right side too my back. i have had my galbladder removed so it is not gall stones. i have also done a liver function test and a liver sonar that was both normal.

Right abd pain : While you don't have a gall bladder you still have the gall bladder tubing which can still have dysfunction- this is best evaluated functional nuclear testing. You made no mention of the lab testing or te physical examination. Right upper abdominal pain  can be from a colon, lung, liver, pancreas,  kidney, or circulation

she develops upper back pain or sometimes rt. sided upper abdomen pain but only on exertion?

Maybe not stones: These symptoms do not sound like they are gallstone related. Typically, pain related to gallstones is in the mid-right upper abdomen, and radiates to the back. Crampy in nature. Classically 30-60 minutes after eating, especially with fatty foods. Not every patient has the classic symptoms however. Best to discuss with a general surgeon with experience in laparoscopic surgery. Hope this helps!

85 year old female, diabetic, diagnosed with gall stones. has severe pain on opposite side of abdomen.  er dr. prescribed valium with no positive resu?

Not appropriate: Valium serves no role in the management of gallstones, or gallstone related problems.  In an elderly patient, diabetic with gallstones and severe pain, she should be admitted for further testing.  Her symptoms could be from gallstones, but also other causes, such as pancreatitis, ulcer disease, kidney stones, colitis or other reasons.  Please ask for her internist to see her if she is still in er.

Maybe...: Not enough information to confirm your liver concern, however discomfort as described is not to be ignored--its a warning sign that something may be wrong inside your abdomen.  Please see my many healthtap answers on the subject of what causes abdominal pain. Not all such problems are serious, but you don't want to miss the problem that is. Time to get checked.

Usual: if the evaluating doctor  to address your concern. Somtimes doctors considering the above diagnosis will try proton pump inhibitor or antiacid and analgesic

slipping rib or gallstones? both in same location. back pain (middle) radiating to the side (both). painful bloating in abdomen. sharp pain in throat intermittently. recently sprained my ankle and fell onto right side. rid slipping/gall stones before?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor.
