Medication: All medications have limitations. Neurontin (gabapentin) is a calcium channel modulator and this is the reason when the pain is really bad the TRamadol helps. TRamadol is an analgesic.

Ulnar neuropathy: Actually the dose of Gabapentin you are taking is low. We routinely start low to prevent side effects then titrate slowly to higher doses. Target doses for my patients can go into the 3000 mg per day range. If this fails then other meds lyrica, (pregabalin) Cymbalta are worth trying. Also may be worth having an ulnar injection to reduce nerve irritation.

Tramadol is a good: Drug because it works through many mechanisms. The next step up from that is Nucynta (tapentadol) which is available when tramadol no longer helps. You can ask your doctor about other non-opiod medications to be used in conjunction with the opiods for optimal pain relief.

See below: The first 4-8 weeks of pregnancy are most critical for development, and if the meds were to affect your baby, it would have already occurred.  You certainly can have this evaluated by an ultrasound or amniocentesis, and talk to your obstetrician immediately, so you can be reassured.  Chances are, you are unlikely to have a birth defect.

Nerve impingement?: can be caused by being sandwiched between two spinal bones, pressed by a bulging. It can cause muscle spasm and back pain. Prevention treatment is always recommended. This condition must be professionally managed. See interventional pain management specialist for definitive diagnosis and management. It is the same as a pinched nerve.

Consult prescriber: Caution is advised for combo of tramadol & Gabapentin & combo of tramadol & adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) esp if you have a seizure disorder.Tramadol and tramadol/adderall combo both may lower seizure threshold.  Interactions may increase risk of CNS depression. Your prescriber will know indications, risks & side effects relevant to your situation.
