2nd metatarsal : You should discuss this with your surgeon. A lot depends on the procedural approach to your problem and your results. Recovery and recuperation can be a slow process following foot surgery !  its important to follow up and monitor the healing of the bone.

It can improve: There are 5  stages  of Freiberg and I, II, III  can improve  without surgery.  There are  no simple  sloutions for where you are  with it. If the boot helps  your  symptoms you  may not need  crutches. You can ask your physician

Most psychiatrists: Most psychiatrists whose practices include treating people with add should have at least heard of dr. Barkley's work.  When calling their offices for potential appointments, you can ask that question.  The receptionist may have to ask the psychiatrist and get back to you, though -- s/he won't be familiar with all the psychiatrist knows or whose work they've read.  Good luck.
