: The difference is the stroke volume which is much higher with athlete's heart. So when the heart rate at rest is lower but stroke volume is higher, cardiac output can be the same or higher in athletes. At maximal effort, stroke volume drops in normal people due to reduced diastolic time (very high HR) but stroke volume does not change much in athlete which explains the athlete's higher C.O.

Symptoms vary: Positive anti phospholipids can be seen in patient's with no complaints. In women, they may play a role in recurrent miscarriages. They also can be associated with blood clots in the veins ( legs and lungs) and less common in the arteries. Most patients have low levels of anti-phospholipids and have no symptoms. Agree with a recheck since certain labs may not have the best standardized tests
