Depends: It depends if the floors/shoes are wet/moist or dry.  Fungus doesn't like dry climates but absolutely loves warm, moist areas like a locker room floor or a shoe.

You decide: You have likely picked up a small foreign body that is buried within the tough tissue of the foot.It could work itself out naturally over time but may also become infected, which would make its location easier to pinpoint. If the pain persists or you notice other related issues you will need to have it evaluated.

so i have a puncture wound on bottom of foot size of a tiny freckle. i think something is in the wound. how do i get it out? i have it wrapped with gauze and tape right now but i would like to get the foreign object out very tiny?

: Can be difficult to get outIf it shows up on x- ray May be able to find by chopping around where it appears to be.

There : There is probably still a piece of thorn inside.  Infections take 48 hours to develop, so i doubt what you're feeling is infection.

You can try soaking it in plain warm water, which might help whatever is still in there to surface, but you really should go see a podiatrist and have the little sucker out.

It's a thorny issue, but i think you get the point!

Foot pain: This clearly should have resolved it been over one month. A fracture could certainly be present. However, i would be more concerned if you have crps. Please see you md.

a very heavy object was dropped on my foot. there was instant bruising and extreme pain its been a month and still experiencing searing pain at the area when touched. last night foot got stuck and as pulled it loose something snapped/popped in foot ?

Mgt.: I would recommend a visit with your doctor. An x Ray seems to be indicated.
Apply ice then a heating pad to the area, use Ibuprofen for pain. Elevate your foot and rest until seen by your physician.

Possible fracture: please go to your local UC clinic or orthopedist. It is possible that you fractured a bone in your foot. You will need an x-ray.
