Internet fantasy: There's not even any collagen worth speaking of in hair follicles. I've been looking at them under the microscope for a half a century. This stuff is made up by "natural healing folks" who pretend to be your friends. A few meds can produce hair loss but this isn't due to collagen problems. Further, food choices aren't the key to managing this or the vast majority of other health issues. Cheers.

Not much evidence: There aren't a lot of studies out that have tested the health effects of all these collegen supplements.One study found that it does not really help with bone health,and another showed some preservation of lean body mass in older women but no skin improvement.It seems that elastin skin products have not shown clinically to improve elasticity of the skin but do help the skin hold moisture.

Collagen capsules: No you should not have any side effects and the capsule should not intrfere with your birth control tablets

Won't hurt: Laser genesis is a very low level laser treatment and should not cause any harm. I wouldn't recommend it for a 19 year old, but at 34, it could help stimulate collagen and multiple treatments will yield more noticeable results.  You could also use a good vitamin c product and retinol to help maintain collagen synthesis.

We eat collagen: Animals have collagen. When we eat animals, we eat their collagen. We ourselves are animals and can also make our own collagen from nutrients we gain from what we eat.

Unfortunately, no: There are thousands of supplements advertised to do all sorts of magical remedies. Very few supplements have real research studies to show benefits (but manufacturers make claims, based on theories, animal tests, testimonials, chemical similarities, etc... But not on real research because real research is hard to do and is expensive to do). No supplement is able to help build the desired collagen.

Body odor?: You don't say the apparent source of the odor. Bad breath? Intestinal gas and feces? Body odor? Vaginal odor? All have different causes, and sometimes no cause can be identified.  If body, breath, etc see your doctor for a general health check-up. If vaginal, get checked for bacterial vaginosis and other genital infecstions.

: Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body involved in the formation of bone, cartilage, muscles, tendons and even the largest organ in the body, the Skin. Because of it's fiber-like structure it tends to swell and give the sense of fullness. One should pay attention to having enough calories from the major food groups- Carbohydrate, Fat &amp; Protein- before having a collagen drink.

Bacteria in Food: Letting food sit at room temperature promotes bacterial growth. Bacteria are always present in food, but in very low numbers unless the food has been contaminated by exposure to any type of waste. Bacteria reproduce two to three times per hour, under ideal conditions. Always refrigerate, then heat foods, if there is any chance of bacteria present.
