No: Hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count (hellp) is only associated with an elevated inr if it's complicated by disseminated intravascular coagulation (dic).

Yes.: Good liver function is important in the production of blood clotting factors.

i have been on warfarin since 2006. recently i've had inr results above 8.0 more than once. i've not changed my diet or dosage . i've always been therapeutic on current dosage until recently. what can the causes be for such elevated results ?

: There are many factors that can affect the Warfarin level. It could be that your body is simply metabolizing the medicine differently and so your level went up. The dose will need to be adjusted once your INR is where it should be. Follow up with your doctor for instructions and for dose adjustment. Good luck to you!

what does it mean if my chromogranin test level was below the normal range? does that indicate anything? i know an elevated level is carcinoid but what about low? cga= 1.1 aptt=29 inr= 1.0

CgA normal: CgA is a screening test for certain types of cancer (mostly those involving the endocrine (hormone) system. Any value below 76 ng/ml is simply "normal."   Your APTT of 29 and INR of 1.0, which are tests of your blood clotting system, are also normal.  If you have persistent or debilitating symptoms of any kind, you need to continue to follow up with your doctor.  Best wishes.

: The INR is a test of clotting factor activity. Clotting factors are short lived (hours) proteins made in the liver. Damage to the tissues involved in their production can interfere with production to some degree before actual cirrhosis is considered a proper diagnosis

: The INR can be also influenced by acute injuries, among which infectious and or drug related (including alcohol) are common.

If he is: hemorrhaging and bleeding can't be stopped he should be seen at an emergency room (and should not transport himself).
