Abdominal pain: Several possibilities - gallbladder inflammation and/or stones, inflammation of the stomach or first part of the small intestine, gas production, acid reflux and constipation. You should see MD for proper diagnosis (Dx). For now avoid fatty and spicy foods.  Take Prilosec orPrevacid, or Omperazole, or the like after lunch daily. If constipated use a stool softener and/or Miralax daily. Need a Dx.

Acid reflux?: It's possible you could be experiencing acid reflux, where either the increased acid from your stomach trying to digest the food is congregating at the top of your stomach and causing your discomfort OR you actually do also have some undigested food also in the mix at the top of your stomach with the acid making you feel uncomfortable. You might try some TUMS (calcium carbonate) or even omeprazole (OTC) or cimetidine

If he can't keep: Food down, then he should seek a formal evaluation to make sure there isn't a more concerning cause of his stomach issues and to make sure that complications like dehydration aren't developing.

Possible Ulcer: The first thing that comes to mind with this description is an ulcer.  The often get better with food and then may actually get worse a little while after eating. Could be gastritis or even sometimes anxiety can cause these symptoms.  Would need to know a little more.  You may need some additional tests and possible and endoscopy to answer this thoroughly.

Generally not.: Most gastroparesis is due to diabetes, a chronic condition &amp; so gastroparesis tends to be permanent. You may have a different condition, chronic constipation (which is actually more like multiple attacks of acute constipation). In the latter case, medications are available to help move your bowels along &amp; prevent the "food is sitting there" feeling. Talk to your doctor. Good luck &amp; thanks 4 using

Spicy food good 4 u: Turns out spicy foods are good for you as long as your can stomach it, no pun intended. Apparently, spicy foods are loaded with lots of antioxidants. Of course, what's spicy for one person might be bland for someone else. Spicy foods & acidic foods can irritate your stomach if you have gastritis, esophagitis or ulcer. But if you like spicy foods & don't have any pain or heartburn, then go enjoy.

Nothing specific...: Nothing specifically targets the stomach, or any other part of your body.  In order to lose weight you need to cut back on calories and/or burn more calories with exercise.  With that, you will lose weight and fat.  Problem is, for women especially, the stomach may be the last place to thin out, making it hard to not get frustrated. Focus on a healthy diet and weight goal and the rest will come.
