Depends : On the activity of liver injury.  Some cases are more rapidly progressing than others.  Typically the amount of injury of the liver will correlate with the level of enzymes in the urine or blood.

No: In general, smoking is not the cause of elevated liver enzymes. In your medical history I see you have a diagnosis of fatty liver. That is the likely cause of elevated liver enzymes.  Other things to consider include infectious hepatitis, alcohol, toxins, tumors, and bile duct abnormalities.

Get fit: I'm glad you stopped the alcohol. Now it sound like it's time to get into some serious physical fitness like when you were a teen. Remember how much fun it was? You can get it back and that'll probably save your liver and perhaps your life. Ask your physician if I'm not right. I trust hepatitis C and Wilson's have been ruled out.

FInd the cause: Elevated liver transaminases usually call for a repeat off alcohol and meds. If still up, a check for the hepatitis family, hemochromatosis, wilson's, autoimmune hepatitis. As often as not, what the liver is really asking for is for you to get back to a fitness-focused lifestyle. Best wishes.

Liver enzymes: Sgpt/sgot  (ast/alt) are liver enzymes which become elevated when liver cells are damaged.  Non trending elevations up to about 3 times upper limit of normal - are fairly nonspecific.  Above that level there is most certainly something amiss with the liver which needs focussed investigation  extremely high levels - in the thousands - are generally associated with severe toxicity or viral hepatitis.

Need more info: How much do you weigh? Do you drink alcohol? Are you diabetic? No cholesterol is unlikely to be correct. If you drink alcohol, quit entirely, If you are even slightly overweight, lose weight and if you are diabetic, keep blood sugar under control. The issue you described warrants evaluation by a doctor.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

dear doc, one hour before blood test was taken, i had run for 2,5 miles then i took test, the result was my sgpt 84.68 & sgot 41.23. i am not an alcoholic and never use drug what cause my sgpt & sgot high ?

: Just from the scenario that you posted here, it is impossible to know why your liver tests were elevated. It may be that you have some liver disease that has not been detected yet. You should follow up with your doctor to recheck those tests and to test for possible liver disease. Do not skip this follow up. Good luck.

not a drinker. my ultrasnd says mild enlarged & fatty liver. i'v high biliru- 2.1(dir-0.5,ind-1.6).sgpt/sgot- just high. alp - ok ,proteins - ok.lipid profile - ok. panc - ok. esr -8, cbc- normal, blood sug - ok, kidney -ok.no hep b/c. is it serious?

Large fatty liver: What were your lipids? What is your B12? vgetarian?   Increased bili  is  seen in low B12 and NAFLD is associated.. Also  unconjugated bili is from hemolysis ( meds or G6PD-middle east), B- thalessemia( congenital),  medications,  diseases affecting  conjugation( Gilbert's-Mediterranean ) Exposed to chemicals? carbon tetrachloride medications? gemfibrizol?   Would avoid tylenol (acetaminophen) f/u/ w /doc
