Kidney disease: Fsg can be primary (generally, idiopathic) or secondary. Most cases of secondary fsg are related to vasculitis, lupus, IgA nephropathy. Post strep agn (psagn) does not generally cause fsg. However, often, cases of IgA nephropathy may be misdiagnosed as psgn. An easy way to differentiate the 2, is to obtain a complement C3 level. In psagn (acute stage), it should be low.

Not really but...: There are a number of unanswered questions. Did you have a renal biopsy to come up with the diagnosis of FSGS, or was it diagnosed empirically? I also see that you are on immunosuppressive therapy - what meds besides Cellcept (mycophenolate mofetil)? You're 50, and you have had a cardiac catheterization, which leads me to suspect that you may have a diagnosis of atherosclerotic disease. More details need to be provided.

Transplant: Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis or fsgs has recurrence rate of 10 % after transplant. You can get another transplant and decrease rate of recurrence by getting plasmapheresis and galactose therapy before next surgery. These therapies have been shown to reduce risk in selected group of patients.

It's placebo: Hi. Alfalfa is placebo, but probably harmless. Don't neglect to use real medicine for your hypertension and dyslipidemia. Placebos are fine for the "worried well" (of which there are many). However, you have REAL medical problems, and I suggest you stick with drugs shown to be effective and safe. Good luck.

Fatty liver: Excess fat in your liver or fatty liver, alcoholic or nonalcoholic, is described. Fortunately no scarring is present. Hopefully no inflammation, as evidenced by symptoms and elevated liver enzymes, is present. You can reverse the changes by abstaining from alcohol, reducing weight if you're overweight, and following a low fat, low carbohydrate diet. A gastroenterologist can advise and follow you.

Focal is more common: The most common symptom of ALS is asymmetric muscle weakness in the upper extremities, mainly on the thumb and index finger side of the hand. OLD INFECTION: The mild intersticial scarring is not serious;however, may be indicative of recovery from pneumonia or bronchitis. This is also seen in smokers.

: You did not say why you had the imaging studies, however you obviously have too many fat cells in your liver; and looks like you did not give the full report. Mild dilatation of the ducts may be due to just variability that may not mean something serious however you may want to tune your nutrition and alcohol intake to improve the liver structure. The report did not suggest cancer as it is above.
