i have one swollen lymph below my jaw that has been there for a two days now. i feel slight pain around the area regularly. i also have no flu symptoms. in addition touching certain parts of my neck below the lymph is painful. need some advice?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. You may have an infection in your mouth, including teeth and it would be prudent to see your doctor or dentist. You may watch and wait - You may feel the nodes every day, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, see doctor.

i began flu symptoms 5 days ago. this morning woke up with visible lump on neck below jaw line to the right of adam's apple. why is that?

Neck lump: This probably represents an enlarged lymph node in response to a recent viral infection.  If this does not resolve within a week or so you should see your physician.

Sounds normal.: Viral respiratory infections can sometimes affect the inner ear nerve causing some dysequilibrium and vertigo.  This generally passes with the virus.

Flu: Flu is usually associated with sudden onset of fever, myalgias cough and last a few days.  Your ongoing symptoms sound more like sinus problems.  Either allergic or infectious.

i've had a tender sore feeling on the outside of my head and face on 1 sidewhen i touch it with slight headache and my eye stings no flu symptoms ?

Head Ache: have you had migraine headache before? how old are you? need to consider arterial inflammation if you have tenderness and headache, if there is any change in vision needs immediate attention.  If so go to emergency room.

It's time for a Dr.: Chest pain, with or without shortness of breath, can be due to minor problems or to very serious ones. An ER doctor can check to see what might be going on. Possible causes include angina or heart attack, partial pneumothorax (collapsed lung), asthma, pneumonia, stomach reflux, myocarditis, etc... One should not wait with such symptoms. One will also need her primary care doctor to follow-up care.

Easy does it: It is best to take it easy. Despite a busy schedule, stay hydrated, eat healthfully and get plenty of sleep. If your symptoms worsen, see your doctor.

May have the flu: Flu vaccine is only 60 -70% effective in preventing the illness. May well reduce severity in many of remaining 30 - 40%. Never-the-less worth having it every year, specially as we grow older.

i have flu symptoms - started 4 days ago with sore throat, now got blocked runny nose, cough and nausea. noticed i have a lump on top of my head?

URI: Take the usual treatment for a URI. Bed rest, decongestant. Tylenol, Hot tea with honey. The lump may be unrelated. See if it goes away over the next few weeks. If persistent, see your doctor.
