my 3 year old and i both have viral flu symptoms with high fevers. worried cause lots of people are dying from flu should we get tested at hospital?

Flu: If your symptoms have started within less than 72 hours, then it's definitely recommended that you get evaluated as you may both benefit from Rx.  You may be able to skip the ED if your doc's office can do the rapid test for you.  In the meantime, make sure you are both staying hydrated.  Hope you feel better!

Flu like ???: Flu generally hits fast &amp; dramatically. High fever is the usual dramatic start. Off &amp; on fever &amp; "flu like" symptoms is  likely something else. Antiviral flu meds are seldom helpful if started after 48-72 hrs. The mainstay of therapy is supportive for fluid balance &amp; nutrition. Be vigilant for signs of any complications that may emerge.

my ms treatment ocrevus kills off my cd20 positive b lymphocytes. im so worried about getting sick. i have a nagging flu symptoms for a week +?

Can be a cause  but!: There can also be other causes. It is best to discuss with your  physician.

This is a great drug and it can control your  MS but you need  guidance to take it safely. It is an immunosupressent  and infection can be a risk.

We used the same drug in studies  for Rheumatoid Arthritis and it did great but we  do not have  it availble for RA unfortunately

See doctor: There are many diseases that can be passed from animals to humans.  It's best to take your 8-yo to the doctor to be evaluated.  If you are concerned about recent incidents of h3n2 virus it has been identified in select areas and your child needs to have a swab to confirm it.

Not easy: Bed rest, fluids, anti-inflammatory meds, hugging and generally doing your best to minimize discomfort until the disease runs its course.  They will get better, but be on the alert for potential complications, and with any significant worsening of symptoms, see a doctor asap.

can i give a combination of myprodol syrup and sinumax to my 8 year old for flu symptoms for tonight?

GP: Myprodol syrup for 8yrs = 8 ml 8 hourly
Sinumax syrup for 8yrs = 8ml 8 hourly

Do not combine if you have sinumax with codeine and myprodol with codeine

It is generally not a good idea to give codeine containing medication to children

Rather give safer medication that can be recommended by your GP after examination

Not necessarily: It sounds like you have a virus, possibly COVID,but certainly could be a different one.In the US,it is recommended,especially in certain states,to be tested.However, it's most important that you drink plenty of fluids, rest, monitor your temperature, and isolate until you're feeling better/14 days. If you are worsening in any way, please seek in-person or telemedicine care
