Natural remedies: Unfortunately getting the flu shot doesn't guarantee you won't get the flu; it often does not work. I do not recommend the standard drug, Tamiflu, as it may only help if started within 24 hours, at most reduces symptoms by 24 hours, is pricey and has flu symptoms as a side effect. The background rate for gbs in the U.S. Is about 80 to 160 cases of gbs each week, regardless of vaccination.
