i recently had both strains of the flu with bronchitis in between. i can't sing for long as i don't seem to have my full range/wind. also, my gerd has picked up a bit as well. i saw an earlier answer about rest, inhaler,and fluids. any other tips etc?

: The inflammation in the lungs from infections can sometimes take 1-2 months to resolve. For the GERD (which can also affect the breathing) - sleeping with your head elevated 30-45 degrees can be helpful; check with your doctor for medication interactions - you can consider taking a PPI (such as omeprazole) or an H2 blocker (Pepcid/famotidine) for 4-6 weeks.

my gerd was under control with prilosec. three days after the stomach flu hit it's awful again. is there a connection?

Give it some time.: A "stomach flu" can be accompanied by nausea, vomiting and "heartburn" that can mimic your usual GERD, and it can be so relentless that your Prilosec is simply not helping right now.  It's doubtful that this stomach flu in the short term would have worsened your GERD for the long term.  Give it a few more days and hopefully you'll start feeling better in this regard.

i had the worst acid reflux i had ever had last week & i even had to go to urgent care. just curious, approx. 1 1/2 or 2 weeks before the flare-up i received flu & tdap shots on the same day. could those vaccines have caused the flare-up of my gerd?

No: The vaccinations do not cause a flare-up of GERD, nor do they create symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. One's GERD should be treated in the usual fashion, regardless of when he got some vaccinations.

have had chest infections problems since october had flu jab non smoker but have asthma gerd arthritis ckd now hve what seems like fluorescent urine ?

Need good physician: With your multiple medical problems, each of which should be manageable, and your multiple medications, you need a single competent primary care physician to supervise you and offer the reassurance and guidance about a hanging-on chest cold (?) that we can't. "Fluorescent urine" is almost always medication or food coloring -- taking vitamin B2?

i have a really bad sore throat and discomfort swallowing. runny nose and flem in my throat. is this due to the cold/flu i currently have or my gerd?

Cold: I am sorry that you're suffering with this. From the sounds of your symptoms I believe this to be an upper respiratory infection commonly called a cold. You should drink lots of fluid get some rest and take it over-the-counter cold medications as needed. It may be somewhat due to the Gerd.

NO IT DOES NOT: No it does not cause heartburn.

really bad acid reflux and heartburn after flu and stomach flu. how do i get rid of this? my chest feels full of pressure and my stomach hurts.

Heartburn: I would try some over the counter medications such as Pepcid AC, and TUMS. If this does not work, then you may want to step up to Nexium.

Likely labor: This sounds like early labor, which is usually not such a problem at 36 weeks of pregnancy.  You might certainly have a urinary tract infection or virus.  I am sure that your obstetrician would be happy to see you and sort this out with you.  Good luck!

Call the Doctor: I am not sure the heartburn is related to your vaccination, but the rash could be a side-effect. You should go to see a doctor and get yourself checked out. By getting a flu shot, it's apparent that you care about your health. Now, you should make sure you're not developing something serious and have a doctor take a look at you. Good luck.
