Doubtful: I don't think a child would be allergic to the nasal steroid spray flonase.  There are certainly children whose cough may not respond to treatment with flonase, but the reason is most likely a mis-diagnosis rather than an allergy to it.  One needs to think about an infectious cause, asthma or possibly reflux to name a few reasons for lack of response to flonase.

Many available: First off, true allergy to Flonase is unusual; you might simply be adversely reacting to one of its components. It is best to describe your symptoms to the doctor who prescribed it, and make sure that you are using it properly (e.g., nosebleeds are due to not using it correctly, not an allergy to it). Your prescribing physician will be able to suggest any of several alternatives on the market.

Mexico, maybe: It will probably be cheaper to see your doctor and pay for the office visit and prescription than to travel to some country where nasal steroid sprays are available over the counter. However, i'm not specifically aware of any country that makes any of the nasal steroid sprays available without a prescription.

can i give my 6 year old children's nyquil before bed for her coughing if i gave her children's flonase today for allergies? she has the cough due to post nasal drip because of pollen allergies?

: Current evidence doesn't show any benefit of using cough syrup for children. If you believe it is the common cold, a teaspoon of honey, nasal irrigation, and Vicks vapor rub are safe and effective. Flonase is appropriate for seasonal allergies along with an antihistamine such as Zyrtec or Claritin. Night time coughing can also be a sign of asthma

Allergy Issues: Clean up your environment . Bedding encasements, certified hepa vacuums, close windows, pets banned from bedroom, use non-dusty cat litter, never sweep, avoid all fabric softeners and scented products, check your vents and make sure all pertinent allergens are in your shots. Try different nasal spray brands. Check for sinus infections and gerd  that are easily missed but can cause similar symptoms.

i suffer from allergies all year long. i was getting shots weekly, taking otc medicines, flonase. and nothing has worked. i am constantly sniffling but at night when i lie on my back the sniffling is worse. even when i prop up the pillow. i need help?

Daily: Nasal steroids like Flonase have to be used daily to work well.  If you use them sporadically, you're just rinsing out your nose with really expensive water.

Yes!: You bet!  No connection between motrin and flonase!

: Yes. Nasal steroid sprays act as membrane stabilizers and this can work for many triggers like inhaled dirt particles or fumes. Their action is not tied to allergies but can help with many triggers to the swelling.
