Unlikely: Pancreatic Cancer is rare under the age of 40, so I seriously doubt that you have this diagnosis.
If your symptoms do not settle down with antacids like Zantac (ranitidine) daily, then you should have a physician examine you and may also do a CT Scan of the abdomen which is the best way to check for any hidden tumor/growth or Cancer.

Very very unlikely: There are many things that can cause abdominal pain other than pancreatic cancer. Additionally, pancreatic cancer is very rare and even rarer in a 31yo.

how frequent can be ct-scans be taken and still be considered safe - esp. looking at the abdomen? i worry about pancreatic cancer even with ibs-c

Additive exposure : Each ct scan is well within the safe limits of radiation exposure, but each one is additive in terms if exposure, making ct scan a poor choice for any life long routine imaging tool. In other words, the effect of radiation exposure doesn't go away over time. IF you really need serial imaging, maybe MRI is a better choice. (Note the IF part) Hope this helps!

Question? : What exactly is the question ? There are multiple multiple things that could be causing abdominal pain in a female. I can understand her concern due to her family history but you and her need to understand that out bodies are complex and there are many other things that could be causing her pain. I advise you to have her go to see a doctor for a physical exam and proper diagnostic studies.

Diagnosing cancer: No one test is 100% perfect but a normal looking CT scan of the pancreas can be reassuring . Very very early stages of any cancer sometimes can be not visible  under a CT scan.

Floating bm's: Floating stools are seen with looser bowel movements causing rapid transit through the intestinal tract and are lighter colored.This could be temporary from dietary factors or virus. They also occur with malabsorption syndromes from pancreatic, biliary tract or liver disorders. If this change in bm's is persistent, notify your oncologist or gastroenterologist for evaluation and advice.

May  be: Let  corectal  surgeon  be  the  boss  and  guide  you,  quit  sugars,  lot  of  fibrous  food,  5veges  every  day  ,  no  red  meat,  7 fruits  and  berries,  you  are  too  young  with  this  complaint,  must  see  and  m.D  asap.

Can if: It is a rectal cancer usually. Actual colon cancers may cause a change in your bowel movement with no pain unless the pain is from constipation or diarrhea due to the tumor. But rectal cancers or anal cancers can indeed cause pain during and after the evacuation.
