Good question: Chloe, fleas generally like fur so unlikely they would be too interested in your ear!  However, any insect that gets in an ear can be uncomfortable.  Try shining a flashlight on the outside because some insects will come to the light.   If this doesn't work, use either peroxide or oil to drown and drain it out.  Sometimes a muscle twitching in an ear feels like a bug.  It will go away.  Good luck!

Mineral oil: If you do not have a hole or tube in the drum you can suffocate the bug with mineral oil.Lay down on your unaffected ear and have someone fill the outer ear canal with mineral oil. Similar products can also be used. Let it sit for a while and then change position, letting the oil drain out.The flea may or may not be dead but it should flow out.

: Fleas have a selective need for the animal blood they are designed to consume. They cannot live on human blood. Any that are transiently found on/in any human location will die. You need to seek a proper evaluation to discover what is causing any symptoms because a flea infestation is not it.

Not to worry: Dog fleas preferentially stick with dogs.  They generally do not like humans and will drop off if they land on a human.  A flea in your ear would, if lodged there, cause continuous symptoms - some painful and annoying.  You probably have nothing wrong with your ear.

Insect in ear: First thing to do is smother it so it stops moving.  An oily ear drop, vegetable oil or even mineral oil to fill the ear canal will work.  Press on outer ear to remove air bubble.  Cover with cotten plug.  In 30 min gently irrigate with warm water and bulb syringe.  Do NOT use alcohol, peroxide or any other toxic substance.
