Also, the japanese eat the highest proportion of fish in their diet and have a low incidence of bipolar disorder. In my experience, 3-4 grams per day is needed for a few months before one notices much improvement. Severe cases of bipolar respond less well.

Maybe : Although very little literature support exists for this adverse effect, I have observed this side effect in specific families at a very high rate. If you're like those folks, it won't subside. Since using omega-3 for bipolar/depression, it may interfere with other meds taken, but there is minimal data to support benefit in this setting.  Best to discontinue, if symptoms go away, try something else.

If rancid, maybe: If you use a fish oil product that has gone rancid, it will be pro-inflammatory and possible harmful.  Also if it contains heavy metals, it could worsen the condition. Research the companies and choose a brand that is pure, fresh, potent, sustainably harvested, etc.  Store yours in the freezer when you get it.

Studies to the ...: Over the years one can find several other studies which suggest that Fish Oil can be beneficial in modifying the hardening of Arteries (Atherosclerosis) that could contribute to some Heart/Blood vessel/Brain (strokes) disorders. Studies to the contrary also abound. If one has been taking Fish Oil for yrs due to family History of heart disease and one is doing well  without symptoms. Why change now

Nordic Naturals: is a well respected brand.  Please read the label and make sure that when you add the EPA &amp; DHA that the sum is 50% or more of the total sum of each capsule.  Also, make sure the fish oil has been purified.  Peace and good health.

at 33, my doctor mentioned because my dad died at 52 of heart disease i should consider aspirin therapy now. i already take garlic, fish oil, and q10, am a non-smoker and exercise. should i?

Very Controversial: because Most people have a risk under 1/1000 per year of heart attack (if No personal history), the risk of ulcer from Aspirin is higher.

Your situation.... Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health....

but, 81 mg Aspirin has a better likelihood of working than a high dose, and a bit safer
