The baby is coming: I would not call it labor, but your uterus is getting ready for labor. I believe this change in discharge is a sign that you can smile about.  Soon you will be a mother. Congratulations.

Might not drop: might not drop until labor, baby dropping has no relation to when labor will start

Nausea: I have delivered several thousand babies and i must tell you that I do not like that symptom of nausea at the end of pregnancy. There are blood tests that need to be drawn to make sure there's no other metabolic problem.

Depends: A normal pregnancy can last from 37-42 weeks, &amp; if the baby &amp; mom are healthy, most Drs do not try to bring on the labor artificially until at least 40 weeks.  Definitely call your wife’s OB provider if any concerns though

if ive had two pregnancies the first my placenta began to fail at 29 weeks & was born at 37 weeks and my second was born at 32 weeks, would having another child increase the chances of preterm labor and more medical problems?

Accepted Answer

: All women with this history are considered a high risk pregnancy from the onset. Many would recommend referral to a perinatologist at the beginning of any subsequent pregnancy for that reason. It is possible a normal pregnancy could occur, but it would not be the initial expectation.

i'm in 37th week of pregnancy, my vagina started to ache. is it normal and a sign of pre-term labor?

Accepted Answer

Not usually: Vaginal aching is typically an indication of pressure from pregnancy, not usually preterm labor.  Labor pain is cyclical.... It comes in waves and lasts for about 60 seconds or so.  The vaginal pain you describe is more typically a stabbing, aching pain that is constant. Sometimes a warm bath at this stage in pregnancy can feel good.

i dilated fully with no contractions at 37 weeks.the only sign of labor was my water broke. should i be concerned with my cervix with next pregnancy?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: If this were a 2nd event or more, then the cervix is certainly a concern. If not, there are other reasons such as your inability to perceive the labor contractions or an overlying undiagnosed concomitant medical condition that increases uterine irritability.

hip pain (constant)

All : All of the above symptoms you described are common at your stage of pregnancy. However, my rule of thumb for any pregnant patient is to contact your ob/gyn if you have any concerns, even the slightest. You can call your doctor's  office 24/7 and there will always be someone on call to take your call.
If you have any of the following signs of preterm labor present to OB triage right away:
contractions that occur every 10 min. Or more frequently
leakage of fluid or blood from your vagina
increase in pelvic pressure
intense backache 
cramps( like your period)

Early  Labor: You need to be patient.  Maybe  take a  walk, warm  bath and  a light meal.   Labor  takes  time  .  Eventually  the  contractions  will be consistent and come  closer.

No: If All goes well with the labor simply inducing labor will not impact future labors
