ABNORMAL: You should never be soaking more than a pad/tampon per hour; given the pain that you're in you have a worrisome presentation for someone who's had an incomplete abortion/retained products/placenta. I would go to your local ED/GYN urgently to get an US and see if there's not anything else worrisome in your uterus. You may need another procedure or just observation. Good luck!

Varies: The first period is usually 3-6 weeks later. Often the first period is a little off from your norm. It is often too long or too short. Too heavy or too light. Things usually get back to normal after that.  Birth control will regulate you and prevent an unplanned pregnancy

Abortion and menses: After a surgical abortion - a D and E  -  your period should return to normal - but it may take up to 3 months   - as the uterus heals from the procedure and your body recovers from the pregnancy.   Please don't assume   - no period means  no chance of pregnancy though   -  get on or use a reliable method of contraception.

See Abortion MD: You need to revisit the abortion MD to make sure that the procedure(s) completely removed all of the gestational material. the bleeding pattern you describe is not characteristic of post abortion procedures.

15th of March?: If it was the 15th of March then that was your period. If it was the 15th of February then no, it is not normal.

Dilation &amp; Curettage: You will have an IV (needle) put in your arm or hand. Your doctor will give you fluids and medicines through the IV. Some of these medicines will make you feel relaxed, sleepy, or numb during the procedure.  After a D and C, your doctor or nurse will watch you for a few hours to make sure you don't have any problems.  Most women get their monthly period within 4 to 6 weeks after a D and C.

Unknown: Abortion clinics  are not held to the same standards as other medical/surgical facilities. The abortion procedure is often  performed in a substandard manner. You need to be examined by a residency trained OB/GYN to see if you need further care. You may need some post abortion  counseling. It's possible: There may have been a small amount of tissue left in the uterus from the abortion. This would cause the period to be heavier, but should go back to normal after this first period. If there continues to be irregular bleeding you might need an ultrasound or another d;c to see if there is tissue that was left. This is uncommon, but it does happen even with the procedure being done correctly.
