i've allergies to tryptans and migraine meds. fioricent is the only migraine med that didn't cause a reaction, but it doesn't work. any other options?

Yes : There are several but you should discuss it with a neurologist because they need monitoring and have specific side effects (like all medicines). Two other possibilities are topamax (topiramate) and depakote.

doctor prescribed fiorecet fot tension headaches.also taking zoloft 100 mg. are these safe together? what allergy med safe to take with these?

Most are: Fioricet may induce drowsiness which may be worsened by sedating antihistamine such as Benadryl.  Otherwise I don't see much problem with drug interaction with other allergy meds.

fioricet with codeine (acetaminophen butalbital caffeine and codeine) on drug test, will i pass?

Accepted Answer

No: it contains, obviously, codeine which will show up as an opiate (and is also metabolized into morphine). It also contains a barbiturate, bultalbital, which will also show up as positive. I would worry more about using drugs when you are subject to drug testing, and the level of severity of your drug problem, as you do about getting caught.

i take fioricet (acetaminophen butalbital and caffeine) (w/o codiene) for tension headaches and found that it also helps with my back pain. is there another drug that would also help both?

Stretch? : Unfortunately Fioricet (acetaminophen butalbital and caffeine) will likely worsen your headache in the long term. Both tension headache and back pain may have identifiable underlying causes which should be evaluated for so a better treatment plan can be designed. Non-medicinal or alternative therapies are likely to help treat both of your conditions and prevent secondary problems from medication use.

i took 7 .5 mg of xanax, 10 fioricets plus a bottle of wine?

Go to hospital.: That’s way too much of everything.  You need to be under medical supervision in an emergency department.  And call someone you know to be with you.

i recently messed up and was abusing fioricet for about 5 or 6 months   at most i was up to 18-20 a day. my doc said to just take 1 less pill a day.  ?

Detox: Fioricet contains a barbituate and can cause sedation and respiratory depression with excessive doses. If you can, get admitted to a detox unit, but at the very least contact a specialist in substance abuse for treatment.

i have a migraine headache. i'm out of my migraine medication. i take fioricet. can this med be prescribed through this service. i do have an appointm?

I don't think so: because it contains butalbital, a controlled substance. 
You might want to try to find my checklist for Managing migraines, which contains many suggestions for dealing with them without prescription medication.  The most effective OTC medication is motion sickness medicine such as dramamine.  We give something like this IV in the ED and it works wonderfully.  Good luck!

Omg. That’s a lot : Get help from your PCP or prescribing doc. You can do this.

can i take a fioricet and zofran together?

Yes: It is prudent to limit Fiorcet use, please keep your provider involved. If pregnant. Zofran is typically not the first choice for anti-emetics especially in early to mid pregnancy.

is there a fioricet or fiorinal available without caffeine? it jazzes me up so much.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Phrenilin is just butallbital/acetaminophen. While fioricet has butalbital/acetaminophen/caffeine. Not sure how many pharmacies stock it. It might be special order. Best wishes!
