is it normal to feel a tendon around the lower part of the fibularis longus move when bending my toes in?

Accepted Answer

To some extent: The perineal tendons run just distal to the fibula and you could potentially feel the moving as you flex your toes/foot.  If you have any concern, do not hesitate to be checked.  A simple exam should be able to tell if their is anything abnormal going on.

Probably not: although the FHL originates from the calf, it would require substantial swelling and therefore pain to demonstrate a noticeable difference in leg circumference...

Mri: it should include both when you have it done. There is no medial or lateral its a full scan from side to side depend on sagittal or frontal or transverse

Rest: Tendonitis is treated by relative rest (cease from all activities that give pain), physical therapy, and anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, alleve).  Sometimes immobilization is neede in a cast or boot.  A cortisone shot if often helpful, but cannot be done in some areas of tendonitis.

i started feeling pain in my leg after soccer practice. looking at leg muscle photos in google it would seem to be in the pectineus/adductor longus area. any advice to identify from which area the pain is coming? is kinesio tape effective?

: Your body is talking to you.  Listen and take good notes. What makes it hurt or get better. And discuss with a Dr who can examine you.

what can cause a hard soleus muscle near the ankle that ascends into leg? it feels hard and seems to stick out closer to the skin than the one on my other leg. i was also diagnosed with peroneus longus/brevis herniation?

I imagine it is: Possible but the blood vessels lie deep to the deep posterior compartment essentially next to the syndesmotic membrane.  If a blood vessel did become entrapped it would be a minor one.
