This is a: "NON-SPECIFIC" finding..that means that it does NOT mean ...anything! It could be a very EARLY fibroid but certainly NOT TO WORRY!

i am diagnosed with a fibroid of size 13*9mm in the posterior myometrium in ultrasound. is there any cure for it??? can i conceive a baby? please help

Yes you can: Most uterine  fibroids are benign muscle growths which can be anterior, posterior, lateral, inside the wall of your uterus, on its inner or its outer surface, ...and of varying sizes... If yours, which is fairly small, is not on the inside uterine lining, if it remains unchanged and you are healthy +asymptomatic your chances of getting pregnant and carrying your pregnancy to term are excellent

Reassurance: Fibroids (leiomyomata) are very common in women in your age group.  Current medical technology is unable to predict anyone's chances of conception.  Fiborids can be associated with decreased fertility and increased complications of pregnancy, but the majority of women with fibroids will conceive successfully and have uncomplicated pregnancies.  Good luck.

sonography report  uterus is retroflexed & bulky & normal in shape. thick endometrium (15 mm).a posterior fibroid seen. what does it mean? pregnancy?

Depends: If the ultrasound was done to detect a pregnancy, then this could mean that the pregnancy hormone concentration is too low and the pregnancy too young to be detected on ultrasound. It can also mean that the pregnancy is outside the uterus. Endometrium is thin at the beginning of the cycle and gets thicker until after ovulation. 15 mm is on the high end of what one would expect.

i have a very small fibroid in posterior wall of uterus. can this affect my pregnancy? my right ovary is pcod i have been trying for a baby for 5 mnth

Ovary: If you have been trying for a baby for 5 months I strongly suggest that you and your husband make an appointment to see a Gynecologist. Won't be easy but quite important.

Need more info: Do they have any submucous components? Even if not, the fibroid size is large.  Pregnancy may be uneventful but not always.

Depends: If you have a fibroid that alters the region where the fetus implants, it can affect pregnancy.  The gold standard for treatement, at this point, is myomectomy (if the fibroid affects your pregnancy.  Subserosal fibroids may not affect you, but you need to talk with your doctor, and bring them the images so they can see how the uterus is affected.

Yes, on exam: If a doctor were doing an exam, and felt the uterus to be enlarged, it could be mistaken for a fibroid instead of a pregnancy (or vice versa).

Accepted Answer

Yes: Uterine fibroids can regrow if they are  not totally removed and cause complications during the pregnancy and delivery. Fibroid growth is stimulated by estrogen and during pregnancy, estrogen values are markedly enlarged.
