Many Choices: Even though it is said and assumed that fiber may reduce your body s capacity to absorp calcium..But some foods are rich in both fiber and calcium.The foods are1acai berries2dates&figs4grapefruits5lemons6manadarins7prickly pears 8mulberries9oranges10strawberries11papayas12spinach13broccoli14beets15carrots16 salad17sybeans18winged beans19lentils20nuts&seeds21 calcium fortified foods.

i know you cant take iron, calcium, or fiber tablets for 3-4 hours after taking synthroid. but what about food with a high percentage of those?

Take synthroid alone: Good afternoon,

As you correctly stated calcium, iron etc shouldn’t be taken with thyroid hormone replacement, including synthroid. The same goes for food.  It’s recommended that thyroid hormone be taken by itself, with no food or other medications.

how can i get doxylamine without calcium phosphate as an inert ingredient in it? the calcium constipates me no matter how much fiber i eat!

Bowel regimen: You'll probably have a hard time finding it without the calcium. I'd try changing your bowel regimen. Instead of just fiber, try using a tablespoon of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) before bedtime. Or senna pills.

i have a lot of built of gas i've been taking tums (calcium carbonate) and some fiber powder was helping a little but still feel gas in my chest so i just took a enema went to the bath room and seen a little bood in my stool still have gas?

I am worried.: Blood in stool is always distressing to us.The enema may be the cause, but i can't be sure.I must recommend consultation with dr to find out.For gas:use simethicone, chew more slowly and exhale before swallowing food.

Kidney stones.: If the high calcium is due to parathyroid hormone kidney stones and bone loss may occur over time.  A diagnosis of the cause is necessary for proper treatment.

Who knows?: The ingredients of skinny fiber are: glucomannan powder, caralluma powder, and cha da bugre. Not only do we not know what medications you're taking, there are surely no controlled trials  looking for interactions with those unusual ingredients. You're on your own! good luck.

Different: They are different componenets of prevention of osteoporosis.
Follow your doctor's advice about how to take them.

my patient is 92 years old. he would like to know if mineral is ok to take every day he has constipation because hes on a few medications. im also using starting today vital fiber starting today. he feels like he needs something more at times?

: Mineral oil has the tendency to prevent absorption of some vitamins. I would use a water retaining material like Miralax if he was going to use something on a regular basis. It doesn't interfere with anything of importance.

Accepted Answer

Yes.: They can significantly lower the amount of thyroid hormone that gets absorbed.  Because calcium is a positively charged ion, it can bind to any negatively charged chemical, including levothyroxine.  Spacing the thyroid hormone at least 2 hours from calcium (including antacids such as tums), iron, multi-vitamins, and certain other meds can help keep thyroid blood levels stable.

can i take advil with betahistine dihydroc16mg? is ther any medication to avoid with it? i usally take calcium magnesium daily. is that ok with it?

Ok with advil: I did not see interaction with advil. It is ok to use with advil. It is ok with Calcium-mag.

antihistamines or other beta2-agonists or monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
