Complex of symptoms: Flushed appear. , feeling hot to touch , dry skin&mouth , eyes sunken from dehydration , fast heartrate , excess sweating, coated tongue, irritability, listlessness( not very active, avoiding disturbance and tend to be calmer) than usual , fatigued easily, less appetite, retching, vomiting, c/o body pains /pain anywhere in the body like throat , ear based on location of infn/inflamm, delirious sometimes

Normal child: A temperature below 100.5 is not considered a fever.  Any differential diagnosis would be more related to other symptoms than the temperature of 99.8 degrees.  Infants can get a temperature that high from over wrapping.

Bites: The distribution of the lesions and the fact that both children sleeping in the same bed developed the lesions at the same time makes it likely they are bites. Try to discover the source. Keep the lesions clean and use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for any itching. All the best.

my 8 year old has just about evdry sign and symptom of delirium. hes had a low grade fever for oved 5 days now. and matchss about 80% of the causes of delirium. its friday night doc office is closed. should i wait it out or go to childrens hospital?

Delerium: With this symptom i usually suspect high fever, metabolic disorder, drug exposure or toxin, meningitis or encephalitis. If your child is fading in & out of coherent thought, i would have him seen now.

Sounds: like a viral illness and there are many from Rubella to ECHO virus...a visit to your child's Pediatrician (or at least a phone contact to find out what viruses are active in your community) is necessary!
