before i do my 2 iui i am looking at nutrition and wonder do fertility diets really work and where can i get the best info ?

Stay healthy: Healthy diet, limit caffeine and alcohol, avoid tobacco, moderate exercise, and staying healthy all support fertility. "Fertility diets" are not real. Neither are herbs, otc drugs, vitamins, supplements, and tricks to 'make you fertile' - they don't work and can be dangerous. Good wishes.

would taking fertility drugs for iuis (unsure if had hgh in them) cause height increase? would effects be fairly immediate or long term like yrs later

Accepted Answer

Fertility and height: The growth plates of your bones fused right after you went through puberty, many years ago, so nothing will make you grow now.  Talk to your fertility doc about the hormones, but they probably do not include hGH.  Usually drugs that stimulate LH and FSH.

is possible to get a false positive 13 days after my iui  if i didn't take any fertility drugs?

See below: It's possible to have a "chemical" pregnancy where the pregnancy fails very early, but late enough to have a positive test.      If your doc gave you any medications, particularly ones to induce egg release (lh drugs) they will give a false positive test.

can i have an unstimulated iui (natural cycle, no fertility medications)? and how can i do that?

You can but: is it a good plan? Maybe yes, maybe no. For women with a  fertile male partner I'd discourage this: The pregnancy rates are the same with IUI as they are with intercourse. For women without a male partner desiring pregnancy, and for women whose partners have poor sperm it may be a fair option, but chances of success are higher when using medicine. Good wishes.

Acupuncture: Acupuncture is very safe. Agree with Dr. Baker - neither acupuncture nor medicinal herbs will cause you to grow taller at this age.

IUI: IUI doesn't always work the first time;you made need several cycles of treatment.Since you have had 2 births,the chances of getting pregnant are much greater.

Yes: You want to do the insemination as close to ovulatiion as possible.

Yes: Smoking has been shown to decrease egg quality significantly.

is iui pregnancy rates  higher than normally trying for a couple with no fertility problems?

Accepted Answer

Yes: It is always higher. How much higher it is depends on the fertility workup. For male factor and unexplained infertility it is higher than for other diagnoses.

can u take coq 10 for fertility to improve egg quality if you're taking hormonal medications for an iui?

Accepted Answer

You can take it: But there are no good studies to confirm that it will be helpful. Ask your OB for their opinion.
